Star Zeng f67eb9d8ba MdeModulePkg CapsuleRuntimeDxe: Get PcdMaxSizeNonPopulateCapsule and PcdMaxSizePopulateCapsule by PcdGet32 in EntryPoint. 
PcdMaxSizeNonPopulateCapsule and PcdMaxSizePopulateCapsule are declared to support Dynamic, but used by FixedPcdGet32 in CapsuleRuntimeDxe.
QueryCapsuleCapabilities is a runtime interface and PCD protocol can’t be used in runtime environment.

Star Zeng d5ad0813ac MdeModulePkg Pcd(DXE): Use correct TokenNumber to call GetPtrTypeSize () when SKU ID enabled. 
In GetLocalTokenNumber () of Service.c(DXE), the TokenNumber is wrong to call GetPtrTypeSize ().
GetPtrTypeSize need the original TokenNumber.

Laszlo Ersek 060853f7aa MdeModulePkg: SmmLockBox: remove wrong DepEx 
The SmmLockBox driver in
"MdeModulePkg/Universal/LockBox/SmmLockBox/SmmLockBox.inf" currently
specifies a DepEx on EFI_SMM_SW_DISPATCH2_PROTOCOL.

However, the driver doesn't use this protocol at all, either directly or
indirectly. It calls SmiHandlerRegister()
[MdeModulePkg/Core/PiSmmCore/Smi.c] to register SmmLockBoxHandler()
(which serves LockBox requests).

In turn, the SMM Core function SmiHandlerRegister() is also implemented
without EFI_SMM_SW_DISPATCH2_PROTOCOL.

The DepEx has been present since the initial commit of the SmmLockBox
driver (SVN r12029); it is probably superfluous. Let's remove it.

(Alternatively, we could extend OvmfPkg/EmuSmmDxe to fake this protocol,
and return EFI_UNSUPPORTED when any member is called.)

Jeff Fan 57f360f261 1. DxeIplPeim will locate Vector Handoff Table PPI and build GUIDed HOB if it has. 
2. DxeMain will get Vector Handoff Table GUIDed HOB to install configuration table if it has.
3. Updated CPU Exception Handler Library to provide 3 new APIs to replace original one API and updated NULL instance accordingly.

Star Zeng 61d8989f87 MdeModulePkg and Nt32Pkg Pcd: Add the new EFI_GET_PCD_INFO_PROTOCOL and EFI_GET_PCD_INFO_PPI support for PI 1.2.1 compliance. 
It has no obviously benefit to reduce size by PcdPcdInfoGeneration, so remove this PCD.
And PCD_INFO_GENERATION flag can be used to enable/disable PCD info feature, a sample is added in Nt32Pkg to show how to use this flag.

Star Zeng 7baf3c69c5 MdeModulePkg and SecurityPkg Variable: Enhance code to use the new variable data instead of old variable data when variable reclaim.

Ruiyu Ni 80c83a6995 Fix 3 bugs in DiskIoDxe and PartitionDxe drivers introduced in DiskIo2 implementation. 
1. DiskIo2 shouldn't signal the event when the *Ex interface returns failure status per the UEFI spec.
2. PartitionDxe should close DiskIo2 protocol when error happens in DriverBindingStart() otherwise Fat driver cannot open the DiskIo2 BY_DRIVER.
3. PartitionDxe should create event using TPL_NOTIFY instead of TPL_CALLBACK otherwise asynchronous FileIo may be blocked.

Laszlo Ersek 4e39b75e7e MdeModulePkg/DiskIoDxe: fix source/destination pointer of overrun transfer 
DiskIoCreateSubtaskList() may split the transfer into three segments:
- a leading segment, called underrun, which is the fractional, trailing
  subset of the first underlying block,
- a middle segment, which is an integral multiple of underlying blocks,
- a trailing segment, called overrun, which is the fractional, leading
  subset of the last underlying block.

This is an example read from the /EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI file, on the
RHEL-6.4 installation ISO (debug log enabled with EFI_D_BLKIO). The
underlying block size is 2048 bytes (IDE CD-ROM).

The first line corresponds to the underrun.
The second line corresponds to the overrun.
The third line corresponds to the middle segment.

In decimal:
- task: read 8192 bytes from offset 17920, storing it at BD890018
- underrun:
    - read block 8 [16384..18432) into the transfer area,
    - copy 512 bytes from offset 1536 of the transfer area to BD890018
      (target buffer offset 0, running total: 512)
- middle segment:
    - read blocks 9, 10, 11 [18432..24576) into the transfer area,
    - copy 6144 bytes from offset 0 of the transfer area to BD890218
      (target buffer offset 512, running total: 6656)
- overrun:
    - read block 12 [24576..26624) into the transfer area,
    - copy 1536 bytes from offset 0 of the transfer area to BD890218 (!!!)
      (target buffer offset 512 (!!!), running total 8192)

The values marked with (!!!) constitute the bug --
DiskIoCreateSubtaskList() doesn't take the size of the middle segment into
account when it calculates the destination (for reads) or source (for
writes) pointer for the overrun. This leads to data corruption.

When reading, data is copied form the transfer area to the target buffer
with

  CopyMem (Subtask->Buffer, Subtask->WorkingBuffer + Subtask->Offset, Subtask->Length);

calls in DiskIo2OnReadWriteComplete() for nonblocking reads, and in
DiskIo2ReadWriteDisk() for blocking reads. Therefore it's enough to adjust
Subtask->Buffer when it is initialized. (See BD891A18 below.)

The patched call to DiskIoCreateSubtask() is also executed for write
requests. The changed Subtask->Buffer initialization fixes the "overrun
half writes" in DiskIo2ReadWriteDisk() too:

  // the WorkingBuffer filled with the entire one block data.

  CopyMem (Subtask->WorkingBuffer + Subtask->Offset, Subtask->Buffer, Subtask->Length);

This code doubles for underrun and overrun half-writes. The patch doesn't
modify the underrun case.

If we're storing the overrun at the beginning of the pre-read last block
(which we're going to write out as a full block), then
- Subtask->Offset == 0,
- Subtask->Length == OverRun,
- the first byte *not* accessed in the source area is
  ((Buffer + UnderRunLength) + BufferSize) + OverRun.

Star Zeng 3e02ebb2bb MdeModulePkg: Variable drivers robustly handle crashes during Reclaim(). 
PEI variable implementation checks only the variable header signature for validity. This does not seem robust if system crash occurred during previous Reclaim() operation. If the crash occurred while FTW was rewriting the variable FV, the signature could be valid even though the rest of the FV isn't valid.
Solution: Add a FaultTolerantWritePei driver to check and provide the FTW last write status, then PEI variable and early phase(before FTW protocol ready) of DXE variable can check the status and determine if all or partial variable data has been backed up in spare block, and then use the backed up data.

For VariableSmm, pre-allocate a mVariableBufferPayload buffer with mVariableBufferPayloadSize(match with mVariableBufferPayloadSize in VariableSmmRuntimeDxe) to hold communicate buffer payload to avoid TOCTOU issue. 
2. Add check to ensure CommBufferPayloadSize not exceed mVariableBufferPayloadSize or is enough to hold function structure in VariableSmm and FtwSmm.
3. Align FtwGetLastWrite() in FaultTolerantWriteSmmDxe.c to FtwGetLastWrite() in FaultTolerantWrite.c.

lzeng14 3588bb3529 If DataSize or VariableNameSize is near MAX_ADDRESS, this can cause the computed PayLoadSize to overflow to a small value and pass the check in InitCommunicateBuffer(). To protect against this vulnerability, check DataSize and VariableNameSize to make sure PayloadSize doesn't overflow.

3. Update VariableServiceGetNextVariableName() to return the valid IN_DELETED_TRANSITION variable if only IN_DELETED_TRANSITION variable is present.

sfu5 75dce34062 1. Fix a bug in PXE driver that the PXE boot do not restart if a new boot option on the different IP stack is selected. 
2. Retrieve the IP information after iSCSI TCPv6 connection established and fill it into iBFT table.
3. Generate a random IAID for each NIC port to require different IPv6 address in PXE driver.
4. Update function EfiMtftp6Configure() and Mtftp6RrqHandleOack() to allocate at most one UdpIo.
5. Fix a typo from “destory” to “destroy” in network code.

li-elvin f58fcb0a1d Move GOP and UGA draw from Consplitter entrypoint to start(). When there is one real physical graphics device in system, Consplitter will expose GOP/UGA protocol on the virtual handle. In addition, fix a obvious logic issue in GraphicsConsole.

lzeng14 90eaa3c1e0 EFI_STATUS_CODE_DATA_MAX_SIZE is just for the maximum size of an EFI_DEBUG_INFO structure. Seemly, it is not suitable to be used in SerialStatusCodeHandler, so update SerialStatusCodeHandler to use MAX_DEBUG_MESSAGE_LENGTH (0x100) as the max printed string size to align with other DebugLib’s behavior.

lzeng14 fe92f438ac The code line where judges if offset exceed the FTW work space boundary, in some special situations where there are so many records, the offset may happen to be just equal to FtwWorkSpaceSize. And then FtwHead will be updated to be outside of work space wrongly, and cause the system to hang in this driver.

lzeng14 31abeada42 Currently, CapsulePei assumes ScatterGatherList are all related. But, UEFI spec has no such requirement, ScatterGatherList may be standalone. So update CapsulePei to only ignore the invalid ScatterGatherList, and still keep the valid ScatterGatherList.

1. If string length exceeds 65535 bytes, return error. So infinite loop will not happen because of UINTN overflow.
2. When a SMBIOS entry is added or updated, check if the total length of SMBIOS table exceeds 65535 bytes, if it happens, return error.

ydong10 3a4e7a3e73 Per UEFI spec, on CallBack action EFI_BROWSER_ACTION_CHANGING, the return value of ActionRequest will be ignored, but on CallBack action EFI_BROWSER_ACTION_CHANGED, the return value of ActionRequest will be used. 
But, EDKII browser still processes the got ActionRequest. And, all HII drivers in EDKII project also returns their expected ActionRequest value on action EFI_BROWSER_ACTION_CHANGING. 
Now update the browser to follow the spec, and update all core Hii drivers to keep old working modal.

Update for MdeModulePkg.

oliviermartin d65502601e MdeModulePkg/Variable: Check if there is a NV Variable Storage header prior to use its attributes 
The Variable PEI and RuntimeDxe drivers were using the attribute 'HeaderLength' of
EFI_FIRMWARE_VOLUME_HEADER without checking if a Firmware Volume Header was existing at
the base address.
In case the Firmware Volume Header does not exist or is corrupted, the attribute 'HeaderLength'
is a non valid value that can lead to a non valid physical address when accessing produces an
access error.

niruiyu c86b273d90 Grub4Dos copies the BPB of the first partition to the MBR. If the DriverBindingStart() of the Fat driver gets run before that of Partition driver only the first partition can be recognized. 
Let the driver binding version of Partition driver be higher than that of Fat driver to make sure the DriverBindingStart() of the Partition driver gets run before that of Fat driver so that all the partitions can be recognized.

li-elvin 30d636c8d9 AsciiSPrint returns The number of ASCII characters in the produced output buffer not including the Null-terminator, but SerialStatusCodeWorker has bug which overwrites the last character, which causes there is a missing character in serial log output. The fix is to resolve this issue.

lgao4 5c5afa7265 Remove EFI_USER_INFO_ACCESS_SETUP_ADMIN_GUID definition from MdeModulePkg, because it has been defined in MdePkg.

niruiyu e9b3cd557f Support new format of IPv4 device path node, FibreEx and PcieRoot device path node in DevicepathDxe driver. 
Meanwhile, unnecessary (UINTN) typecast is removed and a buffer truncating bug is fixed. The buffer truncating bug may cause DevicePathToText generates wrong text representation if a input device path is too long.

qianouyang 94b928ca59 1. In IPv4 and IPv6 driver, before calling IPsec, a new NET_FRAGMENT structure is allocated and then passed to IPsec, it should be released after it is done to avoid the memory leak. 
2. In IPsec driver it wrongly use the HeadLen to calculate the IP header length after the IPsec process. Correct this mistake.

ydong10 4a22b9bc6a Old driver sample code does not return an EFI_UNSUPPORTED status code if a callback occurs for something which is unrecognized. 
Now any call back type except:EFI_BROWSER_ACTION_FORM_OPEN, EFI_BROWSER_ACTION_FORM_CLOSE, EFI_BROWSER_ACTION_FROM_RETRIEVE and EFI_BROWSER_ACTION_FORM_CHANGING, all return EFI_UNSUPPORTED.

lgao4 cf4c5a4270 Use the minimum value for Numeric and the first option value for OneOf as their default value when no specific default value is specified. 
HII IFR Numeric and OneOf opcode may not specify their default value in opcode. And, zero may not be valid value for them. To make sure the valid value is set to default value, the minimum value for Numeric and the first option value for OneOf will be chosen as default value.

ydong10 487ef01803 1. The old refresh string code also update the time/date opcode. But for the reason that time/date opcode updates the string with the same size, so skip the refresh code for it. 
2. Also, the clean old string action used save attribute with paint string action which makes the background show abnormal.  Now using the normal attribute to clean the old string.

1. Support Scroll up and down. When hit the top, the last page will be showed. When hit the bottom, the first page will be showed.

When the menu is refresh type, and the old string is longer than new string, after refresh, some old string will still show.

  gResetRequired flag was not set after default value restored
Solution:

jyao1 36d58153b1 UEFI table also need to be in ACPI NVS memory, because some data field 
could be updated by OS present agent. For example, BufferPtrAddress in
SMM communication ACPI table.

li-elvin 4e03ff80a1 If RSC_HANDLER_CALLBACK_ENTRY is allocated as boot service memory, the status code handler cannot work in runtime (after exit boot service). It should be allocated in runtime memory.

lgao4 f6cf5cf800 Support proportional Font and Font output flags. 
1. Abstract the maximum baseline and character height in Proportional Font package as its baseline and line height, and use fixed height as base line and line height for simple font packages.
  2. Update logic to handle string without EFI_HII_OUT_FLAG_CLIP_CLEAN_Y flag when string height exceeds the line height, and handle the string without EFI_HII_OUT_FLAG_CLIP_CLEAN_X flag when string wide exceeds the screen wide.
  3. Calculate Origin point by adding BaseLine on Starting position, and calculate the left-top corner of character by Origin point and CELL information.

ydong10 e5c861ac2e Fixed HiiSetString failed. Tracker NUM:204479 
Reason:
    When call function HiiSetString to update the string which has no old string exist for one language, it will failed.
Solution:
    When no old string exist, update with new string.

gdong1 9ae0edbfa9 1. Invoke InstallConfigurationTable () in OnReadyToBoot() to avoid the new registered table may be NULL. 
2. For SMM variable driver, it doesn’t need to mark the variable storage region of the FLASH as RUNTIME, so only keep it for non-SMM variable driver.

mdkinney abef1c7a09 Prevent a NULL device path from being passed into REPORT_STATUS_CODE_WITH_DEVICE_PATH by building child device path before using any of the Serial I/O Protocol services. 
This guarantees that child device path is valid even if an error is returned from one of Serial I/O Protocol services in Start().

jljusten e1adae6084 DuetPkg, MdeModulePkg: Fix variable services hang with GCC44 X64 
The C ellipses parameters are passed to functions differently
by default with GCC 4.4.  To make sure they are properly sent to
VariableGetBestLanguage, we add 'EFIAPI' to this function.
