geekboy15a 8091267c02 Forcing functions with variable argument lists to use the same calling convention (EFIAPI). This solves issues when using compilers where the default calling convention is not EFIAPI. 
This fixes boot issues when using GCC 4.4 in X64 modules.

vanjeff 76649bf4d8 1.Fixed the bug when retrieved component name by child handle. It should used gEfiConsoleInDeviceGuid, gEfiConsoleOutDeviceGuid instead of gEfiSimpleTextInProtocolGuid and gEfiSimpleTextOutProtocolGuid. 
2.Fixed one bug when creating Console Standard error handle.

erictian 8e38f18ef7 variable driver doesn't support EFI_AUTHENTICATED_WRITE_ACCESS. we use: 
1. EFI_INVALID_PARAMETER as a return value of SetVariable() to indicate it does not support this feature.
2. EFI_NOT_FOUND will be a return value of QueryVariableInfo() to indicate it does not support this feature.

niruiyu 6a429dfa5f Change back the TPL of PCD from TPL_CALLBACK to TPL_NOTIFY because the following issue is found: 
When we manually connect a device path mapping to the serial terminal with non-default band rate, the SerialIo driver would Reinstall its device path protocol eventually causing ConSplitter::DriverBindingStart() to run and finally would call PcdGet32 (PcdConOutColumn) in ConsplitterSetConsoleOutMode().
Since SerialIo driver raises TPL to TPL_NOTIFY initially, the call to PcdGet32 would cause TPL assertion if TPL of PCD is TPL_CALLBACK.

jljusten b05ad4a765 Cleanup: Remove PcdDxePcdDatabaseTraverseEnabled

niruiyu 1a395747fd TPL of Pcd Dxe driver was changed to TPL_CALLBACK from TPL_NOTIFY to follow UEFI spec that caller of variable interface should run at TPL <= TPL_CALLBACK. 
The change is to enable PcdsDynamicHii in Duet platform. Duet's variable driver should run at TPL <= TPL_CALLBACK so Pcd Dxe driver should run at TPL <= TPL_CALLBACK.

li-elvin b3b1a4cfa9 The fix is for EFI Linux capsule test case can not run. 
It should use runtime library EfiSetVariable, gRT is not converted to virtual address which cause SetVariable failure in EFI Linux.

mdkinney b07a5b68ad Pass the correct TokenNumber into a CallbackOnSet notification function. The value being passed in was off by 1. 
This would not normally cause an issue because the correct notification function was being called.  There is only an issue if the same notification function is being used for multiple tokens, and the notification function needs to use the TokenNumber parameter to determine which token setting caused the callback function to be called.

Update the logic so the CallbackOnSet notification functions are not called with the internal PCD database lock in the acquired state.  This allows other PCD Get/Set operations to be performed from within a CallbackOnSet notification.

Update logic so the PCD database lock is not left in the acquired state when SetWorker() returns EFI_INVALID_PARAMETER.

mdkinney 188e4e8444 Remove unnecessary use of FixedPcdxxx() functions and [FixedPcd] INF sections. These should only be used for PCDs that are used to pre-init global variables, pre-init global structures, or size arrays. 
Do some minor clean ups to INF files

klu2 149fb6d680 According to PI 1.2 spec Vol 3 chapter 8 PCD, if the PCD service determined that the size of the data being set was 
incompatible with a call to this function, PCD_PPI/PROTOCOL's SetXEx interfaces should be return EFI_INVALID_PARAEMTER instead of ASSERT().

1. Update the IpIoLib to a combined library for both v4 and v6 network stack 
2. Fix a bug in IpIoIcmpHandler() - for IPv6 packet, the header length is variable (basic header + extension) rathar than fixed length.
   The fix removes the IPv6 header fields and notify the user with the ICMPv6 packet only containing payload.

TcpDxe/UdpDxe:
1. Update to adapt the new combined IpIoLib
2. Add gEfiIp6ProtocolGuid/gEfiIp6ServiceBindingProtocolGuid to [Protocols] in INF file since the Ip6.h is included in IpIoLib and NetLib.
3. Pass the TCP4/UDP4 UEFI SCT test on NT32 platform.

tye c5bcc2e2ab 1. Fix a bug in Dhcp4 to prevent unexpected broadcast DHCP packets be queued up in the system: these packets will never be freed and will cumulate as time goes on, and then it will cause the system becomes very slow. This issue is reported by HP. 
2. Sync HSD #210249 patch: Fix bug in handling certain network errors in EfiDhcp4TransmitReceive() for DHCP4 driver
3. Enhance DhcpCleanLease to clear Netmask as well, so that Dhcp4->GetModeData() could return clean data in Dhcp4Stopped state.

jljusten b6183e4195 Allow the FaultTolerantWriteDxe addresses to be dynamic PCD's. 
PcdFlashNvStorageFtwWorkingBase and PcdFlashNvStorageFtwSpareBase are
now updated each time an FVB instance is installed.  This allows the

jljusten 02328a57a2 EMU Variable: Add support for pre-reserved NV variable store. 
Add PcdEmuVariableNvStoreReserved which allows a platform to declare a
memory address for the EMU Variable driver to use for the NV variable
store.  The EMU Variable driver will look to see if the contents of
this memory range appear to be a valid variable store, and if so
the EMU driver will use the variables.

If a platform can preserve a memory range across system resets, this
feature can allow the EMU Variable driver's NV variable store to be
preserved across a system reset.

In the default case this PCD will be set as a fixed PCD with a value
of 0.  In this case this new feature should have minimal impact on
the EMU Variable driver.  (Perhaps a slight increase in code size,
but no functional difference is expected.)

eric_tian 15a865075c Roll back the change in Partition driver. currently we enhance the EHCI driver to guarantee that the EHCI controller get attached to the EHCI controller before the UHCI driver attaches to the UHCI controller. This way can avoid the case happen that UHCI sees the disconnect and EHCI sees the connect event due to the control transfer in shared port. It may cause Partition.Start to be interrupted by Partition.Stop.

eric_tian c8148ea20d if Usb mass storage interface returns EFI_DEVICE_ERROR, we should jump out the loop which is used to determine if the current block device supports GPT/Torito/MBR in Partition driver. This way can avoid Partition.start is interrupted by itself Partition.stop().

eric_tian 5e0b1e3f82 fix the issue of "Simple File System Protocol Test -> SetInfo_Conf failed on RAS_MB". When it print a string contained a control character of 0xc, it will hang on ConOut->OutputString() which will preprocessor some control character and call HiiStringToImage to render. There is gap between ConOut->OutputString() and HiiStringToImage.The former doesn't identify '0xc' as a line break character and assert only one line font printed. But the latter think it is so and print 2 line, which causes assertion. 
I add EFI_HII_IGNORE_LINE_BREAK flag to force HiiStringToImage ignore the force line break character.

eric_tian 841014ba97 refine VariablePei driver to unify the algorithm of access VariableIndexTable among various archs. 
1. record the distance of two neighboring VAR_ADDED type variables rather than the offset of each variable. As the field recording this info is UINT16 width, the latter causes in IA32/X64 platform, it can only cache those variables from offset 0 to offset 2^16; in IPF platform, from offset 0 to offset 2^18(extend the scope by left-shift the offset two bits).
when taking the former algorithm, the max range of caching variable is from offset 0 to offset 122*(2^16)

eric_tian bcd7070d86 fix the issue of Inadequate Memory Allocation in Variable Services 
In UpdateVariableInfo(), the code incorrectly allocate a small memory, whose size equate with the number of Unicode name. 
Should change it to be equal to the byte length of this Unicode name.

mdkinney 504dcb0a4e This checkin addresses the compatibility issue of passing arguments of type VA_LIST between components. The type VA_LIST is mapped onto the compiler specific implementation of varargs. As a result, modules build with different compilers may not use the same VA_LIST structure. The solution to this issue is to define a new type called BASE_LIST that is a compiler independent method of passing varargs between modules. 
1) Update the Print2 Protocol to only use arguments of type BASE_LIST.  Since this is a change to the protocol definition, the GUID has also been updated.
2) Update the implementation of DxePrintLibPrint2Protocol for the update definition of the Print2 Protocol.  Since the PrintLib does contain APIs that use VA_LIST, this library must convert arguments of type VA_LIST to arguments of type BASE_LIST prior to calling the Print2 Protocol services.
3) Update the implementation of PrintDxe to match the updated Print2 Prootocol

klu2 d09651693b Fix the bug that build tool and PCD driver can not deal with byte array or ANSIC type value for dynamic PCD. 
This patch including following change:
1) Build tools:
   a) StringTable in generated PCD database is changed to UINT8 array but not original UINT16, because it can also stored the ANSIC and byte array.
   b) The layout of string table in PCD database is changed. To make sure unicode string is in double byte aligned, the item in string table which hold unicode string value will be put ahead than other items. After unicode string item, the HII variable name item is immediate. The byte array item and ANSIC string array item will be put at tail of whole string table.
   c) Fix bug that build tools does not handle the size of unicode string, byte array and ANSIC string.
2) PCD PEI/DXE driver:
   The pointer of StringTable is changed to UINT8* but not original UINT16*.

eric_tian 4772ce75e8 refine the implementation of HiiStringToImage: 
1. Remove the limitation of MAX_STRING_LENGTH and according to actual string length to store glyph info
2. fix a issue when print multi-lines, the next line will overlaps the above line. The original implementation doesn't recalculate the start point of X/Y axis.
3. refine the flow to avoid the meaningless recursive call.
4. modify the usage of "Index" to force them 1/1 mapping between glyphbuf and string. So the RowInfoArray and ColumnInfoArray can reflect the actual situation.

lgao4 84f9a9ec8f 1. Update the implementation of HII ConfigRouting Protocol in HiiDataBase module to follow new ECRs. 
1) ConfigRouting Protocol ExtractConfig interface must return the default values built in IFR that were not returned by ConfigAccess.ExtractConfig.
  2) The parameters of ConfigRouting Protocol interfaces are clarified to the specific configuration string syntax.
2. Implement the last two HiiLib interfaces: HiiSetToDefaults and HiiValidateSettings.
3. Update DriverSample driver to use these two APIs.

jljusten 51967a5314 Acquire & Release the lock from the high level variable service 
routines similar to MdeModulePkg/Universal/Variable/RuntimeDxe.
When the Acquire was in the FindVariable routine, is was
being called by both EmuSetVariable and again in
AutoUpdateLangVariable, which caused an ASSERT to fail.

eric_tian 2fcdca1d73 1. The original code has a bug on calculate the size of SCRATCH_SIZE. It should be maximum value between PcdMaxVariableSize and PcdMaxHardwareErrorVariableSize. 
2. Boot time variable reclaim issue is caused by incorrect flash layout. Platform integrator should ensure that the size of variable region must less than FTW spare space size.
3. Per UEFI Specification, variables of attribute HARDWARE_ERROR_RECORD are guaranteed to have its own storage space size.original implementation doesn’t meet this requirement

qhuang8 2fef9e5f7a Fix a potential bug that GetLanguages() API may return incorrect languages in a string package when the *LanguageSize == OutputSize. 
This issue was hidden since UefiHiiLib API HiiLibGetSupportedLanguages() allocates large enough (4K) buffer to get the supported languages.

eric_tian 4601f37455 correct a wrong offset arithmetic, replace EFI_FAULT_TOLERANT_WRITE_HEADER with EFI_FAULT_TOLERANT_WORKING_BLOCK_HEADER. It will cause FTW write operation break.

eric_tian fba0ee1f4c Fix tracker 202216:linux runtime test issue. 
[Root Cause]
The root cause is that in FindVariable function, original code logic will traverse all variable stored in variable volatile/non-volatile area. If the non-variable area is full and Linux sets a new variable, the caller of GetNextVariablePtr will get the address of next memory block, but this block doesn't be reserved as RUNTIME attribute. Therefore its corresponding page translation table doesn't exist and causes linux kernel panic.

Note that, Variable Pei driver has not such issue as the flash area is accessed in pre-os environment.All page table entries are filled. The access to next memory block will not cause such issue.

eric_tian 933676058b retire gEfiAlternateFvBlockGuid. All platform FvbRuntimeDxe drivers will not produce such protocol to signify itself support writable FVB protocol. 
FaultTolerantWrite driver and variable driver will register notification event to locate right protocol.

vanjeff dad608335f 1. retried PrimaryConsoleInDeviceGuid, PrimaryConsoleOutDeviceGuid and PrimaryStandardErrorDeviceGuid. 
Consplitter will not install these protocols any more.

2. added logic in Bds to check console handles in System table, if no console handle assigned. Bds module will fill these handles in system table accordingly.

3. fixed one bug before call ConsoleControl->SetMode in FrontPage.c.
