Liming Gao 5ea9d0c352 MdePkg: Add new API DebugPrintLevelEnabled() in DebugLib 
This API is applied in _DEBUG_PRINT() macro for build time size optimization.
DebugLib library instance should implement this API to return the constant value.
DEBUG_PRINT() will base on __VA_ARGS__ for build time size optimization.

Daryl McDaniel ae591c14b3 MdeModulePkg, MdePkg, NetworkPkg, OvmfPkg, PerformancePkg, ShellPkg: Library Migration. 
Move libraries from ShellPkg into MdeModulePkg and MdePkg.

The following libraries are being migrated out of ShellPkg in order to make
their functionality more widely available.
  • PathLib:        Incorporate into MdePkg/Library/BaseLib
  • FileHandleLib:  MdePkg/Library/UefiFileHandleLib
  • BaseSortLib:    MdeModulePkg/Library/BaseSortLib
  • UefiSortLib:    MdeModulePkg/Library/UefiSortLib

Diffs showing file changes are in the attached file, LibMigration.patch.
A description of the changes follows:

  • Move ShellPkg/Include/Library/FileHandleLib.h to MdePkg/Include/Library/FileHandleLib.h

Kinney, Michael D 250e4b0db1 MdePkg: introduce OrderedCollectionLib library class 
This library class provides a set of APIs to manage an ordered collection
of items:
- Init(),
- UnInit(),
- Insert(),
- Delete(),
- IsEmpty(),
- Next(),
- Prev(),
- Min(),
- Max(),
- Find(),
- UserStruct().

There are many ways to implement an ordered collection. Depending on the
frequency of the different actions, different internal implementations may
have different performance, memory overhead, or code size.

Developers can select the library instance for a platform or module in
their DSC files that meets the needs of that platform or module.

Ruiyu Ni 4d0a30a494 Add 4 APIs to DevicePathLib: ConvertDeviceNodeToText, ConvertDevicePathToText, ConvertTextToDeviceNode and ConvertTextToDevicePath. 
Add a new instance of DevicePathLib which tries to locate the protocol and if it's not found, it uses the internal functions.

jcarsey f405c0674a Add 2 functions to UefiLib library class: CatSPrint and CatVSPrint. 
Implement these functions in the UefiLib instance.

mdkinney 2891fc8b2d Update DebugLib to provide support for "err" command in the EFI Shell to adjust the filter mask for DEBUG() messages. The "err" command provide the ability to adjust this filter mask at a global level through an EFI Variable and at the module level through a the Debug Mask Protocol. In order to support the degree of flexibility, the DebugLib needs to use library to abstract the get/set operations to the filter mask. 
1) Define new DebugPrintErrorLevelLib that produces an API that DebugPrint() APIs in DebugLib implementations can use to retrieve the current mask for filtering DebugPrint() statements.
2) Add a BASE type implementation of the DebugPrintErrorLevelLib that directly accessed PcdDebugPrintErrorLevel to provide backward compatibility with the current EDK II DebugLib behavior.
3) Update description of the DebugPrint() API in the DebugLib to describe the new dependency on the DebugPrintErrorLevelLib that replaces the prior dependency in the PcdDebugPrintErrorLevel PCD.
4) Update the comments in BaseDebugLibNull to match (3).
5) Update BaseDebugLibSerialPort to use DebugPrintErrorLevelLib instead of the PcdDebugPrintErrorLevel PCD.
6) Update UefiDebugLinConOut to use DebugPrintErrorLevelLib instead of the PcdDebugPrintErrorLevel PCD.
7) Update UefiDebugLibStdErr to use DebugPrintErrorLevelLib instead of the PcdDebugPrintErrorLevel PCD.

AJFISH 225290eba7 Added new PeCoffGetEntryPoint lib function to get size of PE/COFF header. This is needed for debug prints with PE/COFF images that started as ELF or Mach-O. Moved and debugged ARM semihosting lib for RVD that prints out the debugger symbol load commands in a window on the debugger. Trying to write a script file, but that crashes RVD. Added debug print to BeagleBoard Sec that prints out RVD debugger command to load symbols for the Sec. Synced the rest of the code.

mdkinney c553db4b78 Adjust the behavior of the MdePkg Print Library class to produce a consistent style of EOL characters. 
Previously, the Print Library class would translate '\n' to '\n\r'.

With this update, the following EOL translations are performed:
1) '\r' to '\r'
2) '\r\n' to '\r\n'
3) '\n' to '\r\n'
4) '\n\r' to '\r\n'

klu2 502bfcef5c The return description for LibPcdSetx function is ambiguity. The actual meaning of return value is input parameter, but not the value/pointer exist in PCD database.

mdkinney 2075236eef This checkin addresses the compatibility issue of passing arguments of type VA_LIST between components. The type VA_LIST is mapped onto the compiler specific implementation of varargs. As a result, modules build with different compilers may not use the same VA_LIST structure. The solution to this issue is to define a new type called BASE_LIST that is a compiler independent method of passing varargs between modules. 
Add BASE_LIST type to Base.h
Add BAS_ARG() macro to Base.h
Add 4 functions to PrintLib.h that use BASE_LIST.
Change ReportStatsuCodeExtractDebugInfo() from ReportStatusCodeLib.h to take a BASE_LIST argument instead of a VA_LIST argument
Add the 4 new functions to BasePrintLib implementation that use BASE_LIST
Update BaseReportStatusCodeLib implementation of ReportStatsuCodeExtractDebugInfo() to use a BASE_LIST argument instead of a VA_LIST argument

mdkinney 6e10b70a62 Clarify that FreePages(), FreeAlignedPages(), and FreePool() may perform n actions if those operations are not possible. For example, the PEI Phase does not provide any services to free allocated pages or allocated pool memory. 
Update comments in PeiMemoryAllocationLib and UefiMemoryAllocationLib to match updates to MemoryAllocationLib.h.

Add ASSERT() statements in PeiMemoryAllocationLib for the FreePages() and FreeAlignedPages() if Pages is 0.

mdkinney 3dc728fb14 Convert macros in the DevicePathLib to functions. 
Addresses coding convention issues in the DevicePathLib
Should not cause any compatibility issues with any existing modules.
Adds ASSERT() checks for NULL device path nodes passed into these functions.

lgao4 ac7e320cb8 Remove NibbleToHexChar() function from BaseLib 
Move IsHexDigit, BufToHexString, HexStringToBuf from BaseLib to MdeModulePkg IfrSupportLib. The reason is:
1) IsHexDigit function provides the logic to check Hex Digit and convert it to Decimal value, which is required by IScsi LUN and HII user input. But this logic is not provided by any functions in MdeLib. So, it can't be deleted. It is moved to IfrSupportLib.
2) BufToHexString function converts a array of buffers to hex string. If the buffer length is less than sizeof (UINT64), it can be directly replaced by UnicodeValueToString(). But HII modules may use BufToHexString to convert the buffers whose length > sizeof (UINT64). For example:
.\MdeModulePkg\Universal\HiiDatabaseDxe\ConfigRouting.c line 201, 1148
.\Universal\SetupBrowserDxe\Setup.c line line 1457, 1503
Like this case, it is not easy to use UnicodeValueToString to replace BufToHexString. So, BufToHexString is still kept. Because such usages are in HII modules, this function is moved to IfrSupportLib. 
3) HexStringToBuf is moved to IfrSupportLib. The reason is similar to BufToHexString.
